CONSIGNMENT
There are lots of online vehicles these days for private owners to offer instruments for sale, some better than others, some free, some not. Ebay is probably the most widely known and used, but far from free. Craigslist is free….but certainly has some obvious drawbacks. Traditional consignment usually requires taking your item to an actual physical store, or shipping it to them, as is the case with nearly all online consignment. Especially in today’s web-based market, presentation… and reaching the broadest possible audience… is critical in terms of getting the highest value for used music gear.
WHAT WE OFFER
We come to you. Two major points right up front…..this service is, of course, geographically limited. Tone Pharm is based in Southern Central Ohio, but I endeavor to cover as wide an area as possible…. I travel the US 23 / I- 71 corridor routinely, as far north as Mansfield, and the Dayton / Springfield – Columbus – Zanesville axis on I- 70. But I also love to hit the secondary roads and smaller towns. Secondly, if you need to sell absolutely as fast as possible, this is not the vehicle for you. This process takes a little time….but hopefully will prove to be more hassle-free, secure, and get you the best possible price for your instrument in the least amount of time. We sell and ship globally to reach the broadest possible market.
HOW IT WORKS
There is no up-front fee to list with us. Contact us by email or phone to discuss what you have. We can then set up an appointment to come to your location and make an appraisal of your item, using the same recognized database and reference books as most retailers, in order to best fix a realistic selling price. We take extensive, detailed pictures of your item and check all functionality. We may make a cash offer at that time to purchase your item outright. Our non-binding agreement….you may withdraw at any time….simply grants exclusive advertizing responsibility to Tone Pharm Music for a period of 90 days. Renewal is at the mutual option of the consigner and Tone Pharm Music (consignee).
You keep your item safe at home. We try to make the process as simple and hassle-free as possible from that point on. Potential buyers can reach Tone Pharm by phone during business hours 7 days a week, and if your item sells we bring you cash. Buyer pays shipping costs, Tone Pharm packs and ships the item.
So by listing your item on Tone Pharm, you can sit back and let us do the legwork. And after fairly extensive research, I believe I can say that our consignment fees are as low, in many cases much lower, than most traditional store services.
