Additional DescriptionMore Details

For those who followed the genius of Leo Fender through the years after he sold the company which bore his name, first with Music Man and then G & L, little need be said about the man and his mission. He never stopped looking for ways to take his art and craft to “the next level”. Leo passed on in March of ’91, his last designs being those in the G & L line. And for many of the players who have come to own one, the sentiment is the same…..”from my cold dead hands”. If you’ve ever wanted to own one, here is a rare opportunity. Like from out of a Time Machine….we proudly offer this stunningly beautiful ASAT Classic Signature Series, in condition you would expect to find new in store. This beauty is a consignment by a close friend of mine, so I know it’s history since the day he brought it home. My friend is a very talented artist and musician, who, after purchasing this beauty in 1990, simply gravitated to acoustic guitars as his choice of expression. So for the last 24 years, this jewel has seen very minimal play time and care bordering on fanatical. I am extremely conservative when rating condition….just makes me shake my head when I see what some folks call “excellent” or “mint”. I also spent over a decade working in guitar shops, so I’m well acquainted with what can happen to new instruments in a public setting, hence my above observation. One quick point here…I am somewhat limited as to file size on picture uploads, so I have nearly two dozen high res close-ups of the guitar for those wishing more details. Bottom line, I do believe this is in as fine condition as you could hope to find one in. Not “mint”…but very damn close. The only flaws in the finish are so miniscule, they are difficult to see in photos. Original HSC is equally fine, included are original hang tags, adjustment tools, warranty registration in original envelope as it was returned to the owner. Scale of 10…I do believe this remarkable nearly 25 year-old instrument rates at 9.5. If you’d like to see more pix or discuss purchase, give us a call during business hours. This is a Consignment Item, no Returns, Refunds or Exchanges.
